A bit of historySome historians believe the art of crating artificial flowers started in 200-300 BC.
However there is evidence, which allows us to trace the appearance of the first decorative blooms back to 3000 BC. when they appeared in Ancient Egypt, and China. Then flowers were made of expensive silk, gold, china, or of cheaper materials like feathers, clay or parchment. Artists at the time strove for perfection to convey the natural beauty and the image of each flower. They were highly respected in the society for their skillful craftsmanship. It was considered that only the artist who perceived the soul of a flower could convey its image. Trade secrets were protected and passed on only to the most skillful of apprentices.
